All articles published in Journal of Learning and Character Education (JLCEdu) are fully open access and freely available online to readers worldwide immediately upon publication. JLCEdu is committed to supporting the broad dissemination of high-quality research in pedagogy, character education, and moral development.
To sustain our open-access publishing model and maintain high editorial standards, JLCEdu applies an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC covers the cost of:
- Editorial management and peer-review administration
- Provision and maintenance of online submission and review systems
- Professional layout, formatting, and typesetting
- DOI registration (Crossref) and metadata management
- Article hosting and website infrastructure maintenance
- Abstracting and indexing maintenance
- Long-term digital archiving (PKP-PLN & Internet Archive)
- Similarity checking and plagiarism screening (Turnitin)
Submission and Review Policy
There are no submission fees and no charges during the peer-review process. The APC is charged only after the manuscript has been editorially accepted for publication.
APC Amount
The Article Processing Charge for accepted manuscripts is:
- IDR 700.000 (or equivalent in local currency)
Payment details and instructions will be sent to the corresponding author upon editorial acceptance. Publication will proceed once full payment has been received.
English Proofreading Policy
To ensure high linguistic quality and international readability, JLCEdu requires all manuscripts to be written in clear, academically appropriate English. For authors affiliated with institutions in non-English-speaking countries, professional English proofreading is mandatory prior to final publication if the manuscript does not meet the journal’s language standards.
- English Proofreading Fee: IDR 200.000 (additional charge, if required)
The need for proofreading will be determined during the editorial evaluation process. Manuscripts with substantial grammatical, structural, or stylistic issues will be returned for professional language editing before proceeding to publication.
Authors may:
- Use JLCEdu’s internal proofreading service (IDR 200.000), or
- Provide official proof of professional English editing from a recognized language editing service prior to final acceptance.
Please note:
- Editorial acceptance does not waive language quality requirements.
- The proofreading fee is separate from the Article Processing Charge (APC).
- Publication cannot proceed until language requirements are fulfilled.
Fast Track Review (Optional Service)
If timely publication is essential, JLCEdu offers an optional Fast Track Review Service designed to accelerate the peer-review process while maintaining rigorous academic standards.
- Fast Track peer-review duration: approximately 2 weeks
- Eligibility: Applicable after passing initial editorial screening
Note: Fast Track review accelerates processing time but does not guarantee acceptance; all manuscripts remain subject to independent double-blind peer review and editorial evaluation.
Payment Policy
- Payment is due within 14 days of receiving editorial acceptance.
- Articles cannot be published until full payment has been received.
- Authors are advised to ensure funding availability before submission.
- All payments are non-refundable once the article enters the final production workflow.
